Description
The game of “Piles,” also known in some regions as “Trash” or “Garbage,” is a simple yet engaging card game that can be enjoyed by players of all ages.Setting Up the Game
1. Deck and Players: You need one standard deck of 52 cards for 2 to 3 players. For 4 to 6 players, use two decks shuffled together.
2. Dealing: Each player is dealt 10 cards face down in two rows of five. These cards are laid out in front of the player and are not looked at until play begins.
3. Remaining Deck: The rest of the deck is placed face down in the center of the table to form a draw pile. The top card is flipped over to create the discard pile.
Game Play
1. Taking Turns: The game proceeds in turns. The player to the dealer’s left goes first and begins by drawing the top card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
2. Replacing Cards: The goal for each player is to place cards in their face-down grid in the correct numerical order, starting with 1 (or Ace) in the top-left corner and ending with 10 in the bot
3. Building Piles: As the game progresses, players will place their cards on top of the central pile, either matching the suit or rank of the top card.
4. Special Cards:
Aces: Aces can be played at any time and are considered wild cards.
Face Cards: Some variations allow face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) to change the direction of play or impose penalties like forcing the next player to skip a turn.
